Friendly service, excellent lattes, and a view of the harbor! We were guests at the Feather Nest Inn and were so happy they were right there and open early!
Our cold treat was fantastic! Oat milk based vanilla soft serve twirled with Dole Raspberry whip ! Service friendly . Parking at this location a bit of a challenge tho . We’ll be back !
Ironclad is serving the best coffee/espresso drinks in Grand Marais, hands down, in my opinion! I spent Labor Day weekend in Grand Marais for hiking on the North Shore, and a local resident working at the Folk School mentioned Ironclad as a newer option for coffee. What a find! Alex is super knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly. The option of milk alternatives for no extra charge is much appreciated. I ordered an iced mocha the first day I stopped by, and it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet but the right amount of flavor with a strong but smooth espresso taste. He pulls espresso shots perfectly so the espresso has a strong, roasty, balanced taste that is not acidic (which is anathema to my taste buds!). The next day I ordered an iced brown sugar latte with cinnamon powder—again, the flavor balance was just perfect! (both lattes made with oat milk) I wish I lived closer to or visited GM more frequently as I will be missing Ironclad until the next time I visit GM. Keep up the awesome craft, Alex!
First time customer. Owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. Walked us through the menu and made us our drinks. We opted for ice and got them hot instead. We mentioned this to him and immediately made iced ones free of charge. He didn't need to do this but felt compelled to make it right. We both really appreciated that, so much that we wanted to write a review. It was great coffee and service, highly recommend it!
Delicious London Fog! Honestly, it was one of the best drinks I've had in a while. I would love to get a drink here again next time I'm able. And I LOVE that many items are vegan friendly. I'd recommend!! :)
Currently over from the UK, and stopped by this amazing coffee shop whilst making a quick visit to Grand Marais. The menu choice is varied along with alternative milk options. Always happy to see businesses proudly show their support of inclusivity. I had an 8oz oat milk latte, along with lactose-free Vanilla soft-serve, and both were extremely tasty. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon!
My latte was delicious! One of the best cups of coffee I've had anywhere. The owner is super knowledgeable and makes great recommendations. Looking forward to returning upon my next visit to Grand Marais.
A great addition to Grand Marais - I had a French vanilla latte (with no upcharge for a non-dairy milk) and it was delicious! The owner was very friendly and patient in discussing the various options. Would definitely recommend for coffee and I'm excited to try the Dole Whip one of these days!
